On May 17th I will be traveling to Ethiopia for my fourth trip! But this trip will be different than my three other trips. You see, this will be the first time I will be traveling to Ethiopia as my non-profit Project 117!! On this trip all these years of this dream will finally come into fruition! I will be traveling, once again, with One Child Campaign and we will be installing water purification systems at some of their project locations. This has been in the works and something I have been looking forward to for so long! I am so excited the time is finally here!
We are hoping to installing about 2 or 3 systems. One system will be at a children's home location in Holeta, Ethiopia. I stayed at this children's home for about 3 days this past July and loved my time there. It will be pure joy to see this system finally installed! Everything is already set up for us and awaiting the system. The cement platform for the water tanks to sit on is already constructed and the 2 giant water tanks are already in place. We just have to come and construct and instal the system.
The next two locations we are hoping to install a system are in Shone and Combolcha, Ethiopia. Shone is another children's home location that was in the start up process when I was there in July and as long as they have a water source when we arrive in May we are hopeful to do an install. Combolcha is a location that we are hopeful has some type of water source that we will be able to give them a system as well.
A water purification systems will purify water to 99.99999% purified and is very cost effective. As long as a location as some type of water source we can install a purification system. A water source can be a lake, stream, puddle, rain water, water from the tap, etc.
After my trip to Ethiopia, I will be heading to Uganda for about 2 weeks! I am very excited to be heading there for the first time! I will be going to Bugabo village where missionaries George and Christie Magera live. They have built a school for the children, have found sponsors for the children, been able to have the people of the village see a doctor, and are currently trying to get a full time clinic funded, among many many many other wonderful things they do for this village on a daily basis.
I am so excited that I will be heading back to Africa. I am now in full fundraising mode! My first fundraiser this time is
