So, What will you be doing in Ethiopia??

This is a question I have been asked and thought I would post a little bit more about that for all of you to read. I, along with the rest of the Mocha Club team, will be traveling to the capital city of Addis Ababa to serve at various Mocha Club projects. One of the projects is Women At Risk. This organization is in Nazaret and rescues women out of prostitution. The women are offered a 10-month rehabilitation program that includes social, personal, spiritual, as well as job training. We will spend time with these women and hear their stories of how this organization has changed their lives.

Mocha Club has recently partnered with Women At Risk to help the women make gorgeous hand made scarfs that are being sold to help these women earn an income. You can find them on the fasionABLE website. I just got one the other day and I love it. It's gorgeous!! Go check them out.

We will then travel to Ambo where we will visit two projects. First is a church that operates a school for 250 children. If this is the church I remember, which I am pretty sure it is, I visited here the first time I went to Ethiopia. The children here are amazing. I remember vividly playing with them in the yard of the church. I had a great time. When I was there the school was not complete, but I am really excited to see the school. We will be organizing an English summer camp.

We will also be visiting with the large local street boy population. I remember being with them during my first trip. This was another part of that trip I very much enjoyed. God has placed a huge part in my heart for these boys. I cannot wait to get back and see them all again. We will organize games/activities and further build relationships with these boys.

I can't wait to find out more of what we will be doing on the trip. The team should be starting our weekly conference calls soon, I would guess, where we will learn more about the trip and bond as a team (before we meet each other in person. The excitement of the trip is building and building each day. I cannot wait to be back in Ethiopia. I feel so at home when I am there and I have been away from home for 2 years. It's been way too long.

I still have the gift card give-a-way going on if you would like to be a part of that. Every $15 donation gets you one entry into the drawing for a $50 Target gift card. You can enter until January 31st. You can donate online by clicking on the I Need Africa button on the right side of my blog. You can also donate by check. Directions on how to do so are right under the button for donating online. You can also check out more about Mocha Club by clicking on the Mocha Club button directly under the check donation instructions. If donating by check and you want to be a part of the give-a-way, please make sure you mail the check in time to be received by the 31st. I will be getting financial updates with names and donation amounts. That is how I will know who gets an entry into the drawing. You can also donate after the give-a-way is over. I need to be 100% funded by June 7th (2 weeks before the trip). The last I knew I have $3, 150 left to go. (I have not received a financial update yet so that is only the donations I know have been donated.)

I thank you for any financial support you can give me. I appreciate everything. I am so very thankful for all your prayers. Prayers that I raise all the funds needed, prayers for a safe trip, and prayers for myself. I will continue to update on what I will be doing in Ethiopia once I learn more on the conference calls. I will also continue to do financial updates as well. I know I am not doing this alone...I want all of you to be a part of this with me.
